Candle Card Tutorial
Today I would like to share with you a tutorial for a candle card
For this project
you will need:
Piece card 10”x7-1/2”
(Base)
Piece card 6-1/2” x
6”
Patterned paper of
your choice
Small piece acetate
4 tea light candles
Double sided tape or
glue
Embellishments of
your choice.
Instructions
Note: we are
working in inches for this project
The base
Step 1: Using
the larger piece of card score at ¾” and 6 ¾”
Rotate card and score
the short side at ½”, 1 ¼”, 2 ¾”, 3 ½”, 5” and 8 ¼”.
Step 2: Cut
out the card as shown in the diagram
Your card should look
like this.
Step 3: Turn
the card around and insert and tape the piece of acetate inside the
aperture. Fold the box and glue the base flaps together.
Step 4: To
make the front cover cut a piece of card 6 ½” by 6”
Score at 5 ¾”
Step 5: Using double sided tape or glue
along the ¾” section attach this piece to the ¾” section on the base of the
card.
This then becomes the
front cover.
Step 6:
Now the
box is finished and it is time to decorate your card inside and out and insert the
tea light candles.
I have made mine into
a birthday card but this project would be excellent for any occasion when you
want just a bit more than a card. I have used Spellbinders Lotus Pendant on the
front, along with a Creatables die, made a gathered lace flower and layered
with paper flowers and rhinestone and pearl flourish. On the inside I have used
Spellbinders Octagonal dies with a verse, flowers, rhinestones and I also added
a pocket on the inside for a tag. I also used a Sticker Store greeting.
This
idea was adapted from a Whiff of Joy Inspirations project
Have a great weekend
