Crafty Kayes Room

A special Happy Birthday to my daughter today. Hope your day is extra special. Big hugs and love from us both.     I made a 8x8 canvas instead of a card for Bel this year. I used linen card and I think the paper is Echo Park, the charm is from My Two angels and I also used Spellbinders Grand Calibur Decorative Ovals and Elizabeth Crafts Happy Birthday die. Finished with flowers and rhinestone flourishes and a metal butterfly.       After I had made the canvas Dreaming Tree released their latest collection so I just had to make this explosion box as well .       Inside the box   The birthday hat is removable and a place for a little secret gift.   I think I will be making a few of these, really love it and hope Bel does as well.    

This is the second project which I entered into the Scrapbooking section of this years Royal Queensland Exhibition. I started with an artist case and stripped out the inside and added timber dividers. I was given the Prima resin items as a birthday gift. The flowers on the outside are all handmade using a Spellbinders die and I made a little tag to hang on the handle. The inside is lined with  Prima papers and I have added paper flowers and charms                   Thank you for visiting my blog this week.   Today I would like to show you the inside of this years project for the Royal Queensland Exhibition     The box opens to reveal a gatefold album. All the tags and panels are removable and have space on the reverse side for photos . The middle panel of each page is magnetised and also have areas for photos   The papers are Kaisercraft A Touch of Gold and I was lucky enough to source  the embellishments, which were almost a perfect match were from a local chain store.  

    It is Royal Exhibition time again here in Brisbane. This is one of my entries into the Scrapbooking Section for this year. My project was made from a tutorial by Annes Papercraft. I have used Kaisercraft papers and Spellbinders dies for the handmade flowers.   My project was awarded first prize and Best Exhibit in the Scrapbooking Section. I will upload photos of the inside next time.

Topped it with a hearty Crafts Feathers 3D and a greeting.

I completed the card with Sticker Store corners and a greeting.    

Some time ago I was involved in a calendar swap on the Craft Mad  forum. We all swapped a calendar with our partner and I was fortunate to be partnered with the lovely Mandy who sent me a calendar with a lovely verse on a decorated panel for each month of the year. I am in love with the Julie Nutting doll stamps so I decided to make a new calendar and incorporate the verses and the stamps.   Today I would like to share my May page with you.  

Our theme for the Craft Mad Monthly Swap for June was to case two cards from the gallery. My second card was a copy of one made by Jan. I used a Swiss dots background, Memory Crafts Poppy die, Spellbinders tag and rhinestones with a Sticker Store greeting.        This was Jan's original card .  Our theme for the Craft Mad Monthly Swap for June was to case two cards from the gallery. I chose my first card from one made by Ruth . I turned the pattern on the side and used papers from my stash and a Petaloo flower and Elizabeth Crafts greeting die   Sorry I couldn't get a better photo of Ruths card but it is perfect in every way.

Craft Mad Christmas All Year Round Card Sketch Challenge #7     Hard to believe we are already into July. The year has just flown by and Christmas will be on us before we know. This is my sample card for this months challenge     I have also included the sketch for you to try.
