Create and Chat Night

Our latest Create and Chat was held at Craft Mad last Friday night.We all made a cute pop up card and I think that most of us unknowingly decided that  bears were the theme of the night.
This is the card I made. I have used a Cuttlebug embossing folder for the front and some digi images passed on by a friend for the inside so I am sorry I cannot give credit to the original designer.


Our next Create and Chat night will be on Friday 1st July when we will be making a recipe book.

Craft Mad Monthly Swap

The theme for our monthly swap at Craft Mad was Bakers Twine. I must admit it is one of those things that sit in my craft room and don't often get used so this was the perfect opportunity. This is the first card that I will be sending to my partner. I started with a 4x6 white card, added a layer of  patterned paper, spellbinders scalloped oval.hand cut embellishments, buttons, charms , bakers twine and printed ribbon tape. Royal Queensland Show

This is my second entry into the Fine arts section at the show this year. I was so excited to be awarded second prize for my project. I painted a Kaisercraft Advent Calendar box and also painted the drawers and inside and out. I covered the drawers with Couture Creations Vintage Rose Garden papers and added drawer knobs  from Kaisercraft.  On top of the box I created a scene with flowers, sewing machine, artist easel, mannequin and sewing basket and paper rolls as well as  teddy. I finished the top of with timber alphas. I papered the centre opening with Couture Creations Vintage Rose Garden and added a couple of miniature cupboards filled with various craft and sewing notions, miniatures of some of my greeting cards. I also added a sewing machine and mannequin.
